Judy M. Ford brings to Sunrise Consulting, LLC over 16 years of leadership and management experience with grantmaking and other social benefit organizations at the local, regional and national levels.  These organizations include: Alliance Healthcare Foundation; Prince Charitable Trusts; American Legacy Foundation; Grantmakers in Health;  Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers and the Horning Family Fund.  Judy has also served in governing roles as a board chair, board member and/or committee chair for a number of local, regional and national social benefit organizations and professional associations.  These include: Association of Black Foundation Executives; Women & Philanthropy; Washington AIDS Partnership; CentroNia; Grantmakers for Children, Youth and Families and The Black Philanthropic Alliance.

Judy has received formal leadership training and executive coaching through Management Concepts, Inc. and the Joint Centers for Leadership and Public Values at Duke University and the University of Cape Town, South Africa.  A graduate of the Joint Centers' highly competitive, international leadership development program, the Emerging Leaders Fellowship Program, Judy has earned the distinction of Life Fellow with the Joint Centers and is a member of the US-ELP Alumni Committee.

Judy holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston University, as well as Masters degrees from the University of Michigan and Johns Hopkins University.  Judy has completed her coach training through the Coaches Training Institute, a fully accredited, international coach training program; and is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) - one of the most highly regarded certification credentials in the coaching field.  Judy is an executive coach for the Louisiana Effective Leadership Fellows Program and currently maintains a portfolio of coaching clients that includes foundation executives, leaders of social benefit organizations, state and local government leaders and university professors. 

Judy lives in the Washington, DC region and is a member in good standing with the International Coach Federation.
